The 25-year-old son of U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) has died, the congressman’s workplace stated on Thursday.
Thomas Bloom Raskin, a second-year pupil at Harvard Legislation Faculty, was remembered as “pure magic” in a statement from his parents.
“His brilliance and compassion knew no bounds,” the lawmaker and his spouse, Sarah Bloom Raskin, stated of their son.
“He passionately liked his household, buddies, and animals, and was dedicated to the reason for the worldwide poor. We’re devastated and demolished to be with out him.”
The assertion didn’t present a trigger or method of demise.
Raskin’s workplace stated the congressman and his household are “grateful for the outpouring of assist and love from neighbors, constituents, and buddies” however requested everybody to “observe strict COVID-19 protocols throughout this time of grief.”
Along with his mother and father, Thomas is survived by his sisters, Hannah and Tabitha, grandparents, Arlene Bloom and Lynn Raskin, and dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins and buddies, the assertion stated.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan wrote that, “The First Girl and I prolong our deepest sympathies over this heartbreaking loss.”
“I ask all Marylanders to maintain the Raskin household in your prayers.”
